What is Axillary Hyperhidrosis?

Excessive sweating often occur in the hands (palmar hyperhidrosis), the armpits (axillary hyperhidrosis), or the feet (plantar hyperhidrosis). Axillary Hyperhidrosis is the correct medical term for excessive sweating from the armpits. When suffering from axillary hyperhidrosis, excessive sweating from the underarm area occurs, resulting in wet marks and staining clothes.

This type of sweating is embarrassing for those who suffer with it and the condition often lead people to avoid social situations. Also, sweating a lot tend to effect the professional lives because the embarrassment of wet underarms make people avoid work situations where their sweating condition may be displayed.

The two most common types of hyperhidrosis are sweaty palms, or palmar hyperhidrosis, and excessive underarm sweating, also known as axillary hyperhidrosis. Axillary Hyperhidrosis, excessive sweating in the armpits, very often results in embarrassing wet marks on shirts.
